I’m a new Mac user so, couldn’t understand what the error message all about. As there is no direction how to solve it. In next screen there was some indication about something wrong in my account settings. It was not the first time Before this, I had already faced this problem on the day of public final release of Yosemite. On that day I tried to upgrade and received the same error. I was looking for some suggestion on internet. People were thinking it may be problem of Apple store. A lot of people were trying to download it because it was brand new release and free upgrade for OS X.
Every body was irritated by this warning message “There was an error in the App store. Please try again later. (null)” I was getting same message every day then, I guessed something must be wrong.

I was sure this issue may not with the App store. Because apple never do this. I have only one laptop that I use for my work and also to install other apps with same Apple ID. The problem was I was first time going to upgrade OS X.

After some times, I filled the security info. I was not sure about this experiment, it was only try. Awesome! it was successful. Now, I was able to download and update Yosemite on my MacBook Pro laptop.
Beside this, other upgrades are similar as we do often. Before proceeding to OS X update, Apple always recommends to take a backup of your personal data to prevent data lost, but most of the time like in-place upgrade backup will be succeeded with Apple products automatically.
